COUNSELOR-IN-TRAINING PROGRAM (CIT)

Counselors-in-training (CIT's) usually are boys who have finished the eighth grade.  They participate actively in the regular program of activities and trips, but they have some special responsibilities, especially in the kitchen and dining room, as well as some special privileges.  In recognition of the responsibilities, they pay a reduced tuition, and they receive a modest "paycheck" when the season ends.  Preference is given to boys who have been to Wachusett as campers, but space frequently is available for new boys.
