It is absolutely essential that all
 clothing and equipment be clearly marked!

GENERAL TRIPS (interested boys only)
1 dress shirt (button-down, for example) sunscreen
1 pair of good slacks (khaki type pants) hiking shoes or boots
2 heavy sweaters backpack (external or internal frame)
2 pairs of tennis shoes sleeping bag (and bag it stuffs into)
1 rain parka or poncho ground cloth (5' by 8' tarp, for example
1 laundry bag hat
2 heavy blankets water bottle (plastic) or canteen
4 sheets (twin size) jacket or vest
2 pillow cases flashlight
4 bath towels bug repellent
   soap and other toilet articles cup, fork, and spoon
2 bathing suits two pairs of wool socks
2 pairs of pajamas rope, cords, or canvas straps (for lashing
12 pairs of underpants     gear to backpack)
12 pairs of athletic socks (heavy cotton)
12 T-shirts or short-sleeve shirts
4 pairs of play shorts
4 pairs of dungarees or old pants
4 long-sleeve shirts (sweatshirts, for example)

OPTIONAL EQUIPMENT

  • fishing rod and tackle
  • camera and film
  • swim mask and fins
  • sports equipment such as a baseball glove, tennis racket, lacrosse stick, street hockey stick and pads, roller blades, etc.


Stuff such as boots, packs, and sleeping bags can become really expensive.  We have said before that the boys are going to New England, not to the summit of Mt. Everest.  Be careful, don't buy more than a boy is going to need, and don't hesitate to call us if we can be of help with purchases.
