COUNSELOR IN TRAINING INFORMATION:

Boys who have finished the ninth grade are designated as Counselors in Training (CIT). CIT’s will live in a counselor supervised cabin and participate in the regular program with campers, but will also be given responsibilities and privileges appropriate to their age. Responsibilities will include helping in the kitchen and dining hall. CIT’s will also participate in the staff training program, where qualified senior staff will lead them in group activities centered around team building and leadership skills. On some occasions CIT’s will have the opportunity to assist counselors in some activities and events.

CIT’s are encouraged to attend camp for longer periods of time. Nevertheless, there are enrollment options from two weeks to the full camp season. CIT tuitions are $100 a week less than regular camper tuitions. In addition, payments to CIT’s for the help they provide will be $75 a week. Tuition charges cover all camp expenses -- such as overnight trips, T-shirts, laundry, and a spending allowance. Transportation costs to and from camp are not included. See Sessions and Rates for further information.

Boys who have completed the tenth grade are designated as Junior Counselors (JC). JC’s will live together in a counselor supervised cabin with privileges and responsibilities appropriate to their age. This is a time when a JC will find a particular activity that interests him and can focus on sharpening skills by working closely with an activities counselor and campers.
