Camp Wachusett occupies 40 acres along the shores of Lake Hortonia in the town of Hubbardton, Vermont.

Hubbardton lies about an hour south of Burlington, VT and two hours northeast of Albany, NY, with the Green Mountains just to the east and Lake Champlain a short distance to the west. Lake Hortonia, approximately 450 acres in size, is both clean and quiet. The camp’s property includes about 900 feet of lakefront and accommodates an enrollment of about seventy-five boys, ages 9 to 16.

The camp’s waterfront consists of a large beach area, a main pier, a water trampoline and two rafts for swimming and water-skiing. The camp owns a 240 horsepower ski-boat, four rowboats, nine sailboats, sixteen canoes, and seven kayaks.

Additional facilities include two playing fields, two full basketball courts, three hard-court tennis courts, ranges for archery and riflery, and a large surfaced area for skateboarding and street hockey.

Each of the twelve sleeping cabins will accommodate six to eight campers and one or two staff. Every camper is expected to keep his bed and belongings straight and to assist with some of the collective housekeeping responsibilities to common areas of the property. Other buildings include a spacious dining hall and a majestic Main Lodge overlooking the lake and featuring an auditorium and stage. A nursing staff oversees the daily health needs of campers. If the services of a physician or hospital are needed, Rutland is thirty minutes away. The camp’s health and safety record is superb.

We want to thank you for giving our son one of the best summer camp experiences he has ever had. He came home with stories and filled our ears with all of the activities and fun he had. He even said he was tempted to call and see about staying another week, making it five total. This from a kid who three years ago could not leave for more than a week and even that was pushing it. You have created a true camp experience for boys, and we are very grateful for your efforts.
